Stranglehold

Let's break the UK media's stranglehold in Scotland

How you can help and it won't cost you a penny, just a moment or two of your time!

Scotland has no control over the mainstream media operating in Scotland, that power is reserved to the parliament of another country, England which masquerades as the UK. It allows the government in London to have total control over the narrative which, more often than not, portrays Scotland as backward, weak and unable to operate without the support of Westminster.

Most people, including many unionists, believe that the state broadcaster, the BBC is biased despite its claims to the contrary, but regardless of the arguments for or against independence, having a mainstream media that properly represents the country it broadcasts in is essential if people are to be properly represented by that media. Few other countries anywhere in the world allow another country to control their media.

How YOU can help

If you agree with the above statement and want to see media that serves Scotland's best interests, not someone else's, here's how you can help and the best bit is, it won't cost you a penny, just a few moments of your time.

In order for The Scotland Channel to be sustainable, it needs to earn revenues.

This is currently done through the YouTube monetisation programme. That's where creators like us earn a percentage of all advertising revenues shown with our videos. However, if you skip the ads, we earn nothing, not a single penny. That's why it is vital that when you watch our content on YouTube, you don't skip the ads and you allow them to run through to the end. It's the only way we can continue to make content for the channel and enable it to be made available free of charge - rather than us becoming a paid subscription channel and limiting the number of viewers able to watch.

As our guiding principle is to promote a positive vision of Scotland to the world and bring you the coverage of Scotland you won't see on London-controlled media in Scotland, it's essential we make revenue from YouTube advertising.

The other positive thing you can do for the channel is to like and share our videos and subscribe to our YouTube channel if you haven't already! Help us to spread the word.  Visit the channel's YouTube page here: https://www.youtube.com/@TheScotlandChannel

The Scotland Channel has big plans for the future.

We are already working on ways to produce dramas, quiz shows, chat shows and a range of other popular content to boost the Channel's fortunes further because, when The Scotland Channel succeeds, it helps to promote a positive vision of our country not only to the people who live here, but to the world. It helps to build confidence in Scotland, its people and culture as well as the many, many success stories which previously never saw the light of day.

Thank you for watching and thank you for not skipping the ads!
